Unfortunately, these makeshift dwellings are highly vulnerable to extreme weather conditions, resulting in frequent destruction and the tragic loss of lives each year. Given Bangladesh’s susceptibility to severe weather, the poor find themselves trapped in a cycle of continuous rebuilding. During cold spells or heavy rains, these homes offer little protection, causing immense hardship for thousands of families.

It’s truly disheartening to witness that while a simple brick and mortar house costs around £1500/£2000, many families suffer for years, unable to afford adequate housing while striving to sustain their families.

At Anwaar-ul Mustafaa Trust, we have been actively involved in supporting families by repairing and constructing new homes for those in dire need. Moreover, we secure plots of land for families to build upon, providing them with stability and alleviating the uncertainty of sudden eviction notices. In Bangladesh, the risk of abrupt displacement from their land is a prevalent issue, causing immense distress for both family heads and their children.
